Clinic Re-Opening
Vaccine Passports and Masks
Fall 2021 update: Vaccine passports are now required for mask-off facial and massage services.
Things you should know about our new safety protocols
The offices of Drs Kurz and Halka and Azure Advanced Aesthetics will open their doors again, starting the week of May 25th, 2020. While we are happy to be re-opening, it is our highest priority to do so in the safest and most sustainable fashion. Therefore, we will be opening gradually, by appointment only (no walk-ins), at this time.
We will be initially be operating with reduced appointment availability and staggered schedules to reduce patient cross-over, respect social distancing, as well as, to ensure proper sanitization after each patient.
We have developed new safety protocols to ensure that you and our team are protected to the best of our abilities. We will be providing clear signage to guide you along the way.
Our Team
Our providers will be wearing masks and protective eyewear and gloves, depending on the treatment. Their dedicated work clothes will be washed daily. Our team will be implementing enhanced cleaning protocols; although we are promoting a no-touch protocol, where we aim to minimize touch-points for staff and patients / clients.
Telephone Pre-Screening
When you make an appointment, we will ask you some questions regarding COVID-19. We will also call you 24-48 hours prior to your appointment to confirm your health condition. The questions will be as follows:
1. Have you been out of the province of BC in the past 14 days?
2. Have you been in contact with anyone known or suspected to have contracted COVID-19·in the past 14 days? Symptoms of COVID-19 may take some time to develop and can appear up to 14 days after being exposed to the virus.
3. Have you have completed the BC COVID-19 Symptom self assessment tool (https://bc.thrive.health/covid19/en) 1 day prior to your scheduled visit at our office and assessed positive for potential COVID-19?
4. Have you experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days including the following?
- Fever
- Chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
- Sore throat and painful swallowing
- Stuffy or runny nose
- Loss of sense of smell
- Headache
- Muscle aches
- Fatigue
- Loss of appetite
- People infected with COVID-19 may also experience gastrointestinal symptoms like diarrhea, nausea and vomiting a few days after the onset of the above symptoms.
If any of these assessment questions are answered positive, you will need to reschedule your appointment for the safety of all patients and staff.
The COVID-19 questionnaire and informed consent form can be sent via email or downloaded from our website in advance to allow completion at home in advance of your visit.
At the Clinic
A. Walk-ins are not permitted. Please call our office if you wish to schedule an appointment (250-561-7224 – Drs Kurz and Halka) (250-277-2290 – Azure Advanced Aesthetics). A scheduled appointment is also required for product purchases, so call us first.
B. Please come alone to your appointment. If it is necessary to be accompanied by an aid (for health reasons, minors, etc.), please notify our office in advance.
C. We ask all clients to bring and wear a personal mask to your appointment. It can be a cloth or paper mask. Masks will mitigate the wearer from spreading airborne droplets to others. Clients / patients are asked NOT to wear gloves.
D. We ask that you enter the building a maximum of 5 minutes prior to your appointment and wait in your vehicle or outside the clinic until that time. We encourage you to keep your belongings in your car.
E. We are targeting a “no-touch” protocol to minimize the potential spread of viruses or germs as much as possible. We recommend that the building entrance door is operated by using your elbow or a tissue to activate the automatic door opener. Once inside the building, the door into the clinic will be already open and our staff will open and close all other interior doors as required for exams / treatments. We ask all patients / clients avoid touching any surfaces and sanitize their hands if they do inadvertently touch their faces once inside the premises. Their will be ample hand-washing / sanitizing stations available throughout the clinic.
F. At the clinic entrance, you will be asked to disinfect your hands before entering the clinic. There will be 4 waiting chairs and marked standing spaces (maintaining 2 M distancing guidelines) in the event that more than 1 person is arriving at one time, but the intent is to minimize any waiting. Waiting chairs will be disinfected by staff after each use.
G. Bathrooms will be restricted to exceptions only in order to minimize any risk of potential contamination.
H. You will be asked to complete the COVID-19 questionnaire at that time so that we can officially confirm that you are in good health. Additionally you will be asked, on your first visit for a procedure, to complete a COVID-19 informed consent form so that we can officially confirm that you understand there is a risk of contracting COVID-19, as there is with any shopping trip, appointment, procedure or service.
I. Appointments will be spaced apart to allow time to carefully disinfect each room between each patient. Common areas and surfaces will also be cleaned several times during the day.
J. At the payment counter 3 waiting spaces are marked on the floor in order to respect the distance between others. Payment is preferred by card only. CASH is discouraged, since hand sanitizing is required after each instance of handling cash.
K. Your receipt can be sent by email.
L. If you were to receive a diagnosis of COVID-19 within a week following your appointment, we would be grateful if you would inform us.
Thank you for your trust
We are committed, as always, to offering you the best service in all circumstances. We are excited to welcome you soon!
